30-Day Tumblr Challenge; Day 1

Stolen from Leslie.

Day 1: A photo of yourself and a description of how your day was.

I woke up this morning at 7:40 a.m., which is later than I would have liked. I can’t complain though because I forgot to set my alarm last night, so I should really just be thankful that I woke up at all. I’ve been trying to get to work earlier (before 8:30), but it hasn’t been happening lately. So, I’m rushing to get ready this morning and I realize I’m supposed to head over to United Way to pick up some brochures at 8:30, so I was kind of rushing for no reason. I get there and their hours of operation are 8:30-whatever, but no one is at the front desk at 8:40 and the door is locked. I ring this doorbell that they have, wait a while, and eventually someone lets me in, so I grab the stuff and drive to campus to drop it off.

I don’t know how familiar you all are with the tower, but there is nowhere to park around it. There used to be these 15 minute loading zones, but the construction that’s going on now relocated those. Now, there’s only one right in between the FAC and the tower and there is ALWAYS some damn construction/maintenance/tech vehicle parked in it for longer than 15 minutes. So, I dropped off the boxes I had next to the tower entrance and drove home and walked back. Haha. No one was going to take them anyway. My work day was really busy because October 1 is the first day of the Hearts of Texas Campaign. I was getting phone calls left and right from people asking questions about what to do. It’s my first year serving on the campaign, so it’s pretty funny that people are asking me. I sent out an all-UT email today, which was awesome. It went out to allĀ  university staff (that’s 13,000+ people!), and I had hundreds of Out-of-office replies flooding my inbox right after.

I ended up staying until 8 p.m. today because 1) I wanted to clean my office 2) I wanted to finish updating the Hearts of Texas website before next week and 3) I also wanted to update this other website I’ve been working on and have been slacking on (even though I’m the webmaster…now I know how T feels). I really need to get Dreamweaver on my computer or something. After work, I went home and changed and jogged to the gym. The girl who swiped my ID said, “You know we close at 9, right?” I didn’t know what time it was, but I looked at the clock and it was 8:45, so I rushed through a workout and jogged home. Then, I showered and went to H-E-B and spent way too much on groceries (for the second time in a row). Came home, cooked dinner, and now I am going to do a little bit of leisure reading.

Goodness. Who wanted to hear about this anyway?
